Subject: Spring Metric, New Rider Clinic and More
From: Springfield Bicycle Club

Celebrate Trails/Spring Metric is this Weekend!

As of today, the weather forecast for Saturday, April 22, is looking iffy for outdoor activities. We'll re-evaluate as the week progresses and make an announcement no later than Thursday evening if we need to cancel.  But in the meantime, please RSVP so we can get a head count for lunch just in case!

Thanks to Stephen Paca and Kristina Mucinskas who have graciously offered to serve as Ride Leaders for the 31-mile route, starting at 9:00 AM. Pace will be 14-15 mph.

Don't feel like riding? No problem! Feel free to stop by for lunch and socializing. This is a great way to meet other club members!

Left Turn? Right Turn? Stopping? What Do I Do?

Are you a new rider? Maybe you've been riding for a while but haven't joined a group ride. Or maybe you stick to the bike trails but want to expand your riding area but aren't sure where to start.  This two-part clinic is for you! In the first session, participants will practice bike safety and take a short cruise up the Sangamon Valley Trail before returning to Stuart Park. In the second session, we'll review bike safety and then go for a ride on low-traffic roads towards Athens.

Events Director Lori Dale will coordinate a Bike Safety Clinic on May 4th and 11th. This will take place at Stuart Park on Winch Lane. Learn more about the format at the link below. There's no charge for this event, but we do ask that you Register so that we can get a head count.

Borah Team Store Open Until April 24

There's still time to get your SBC-branded jerseys, shorts and bib shorts. For the initial store, you have your choice of two lines of jerseys, shorts and bib shorts --- the Pro Line or the Team Line (Team has two fit options).   Learn more about these items in the team store.  Sizing charts are also included to help you choose the correct size.

But if you have any issues, Borah stands behind their sizing and will work with you on exchanging for a different size. You can chat with a Borah rep or send an email through the team store with any questions.

The store will remain open until Midnight, April 24th, so don't delay!  We expect production times to run 4-6 weeks once the final order is placed. We will open the store again in the fall and add some cool weather options at that time.
