Who we are and what we do

The Springfield Bicycle Club is THE advocacy group in Springfield Illinois for bicycling. Funds from our annual Capital City Century (CCC) recreational ride (now in it's 47th year) have been used for local, state and national bicycling infrastructure and advocacy.

Capital City Century (CCC)

106 Springfield Bicycle Club, community, and high school student volunteers helped make our 47th annual Capital City Century on Sunday, September 8th, a big success. The weather was challenging at the start but it turned out to be a beautiful day to ride. Our total pre-registered rider count was 578 (a record!) but the early morning rain kept walk-ins away and we did not reach our goal of 700

Much good information was obtained by the 172 people who filled out our participant survey and most were happy with the ride, despite the road resurfacing that was done three days prior.
