Monday Night Gravel will officially kick of starting in April! The weather can be fickle, so if things look questionable we‘ll announce cancellation by noon.
For April, we‘ll be riding out of Loami. Meet at the post office for a 5:45 rollout, with 20-25 miles of mixed surface fun. This is a no-drop ride, and pace will vary depending on those that arrive. We typically average between 15-17mph for the ride.
The first MNG every month will be at a slower pace with less rugged routes. If you‘re new to gravel, not used to group riding, or just unsure if you can keep pace with our normal ride, please come out and join us for the first Monday of the month.
Lewis Park Trails
Koke Mill Road & Washington Street
Join the SIMBA (Springfield IL Mountain Bike Association) crew for some trail riding after work! Location will be either the Lewis Park Trails on Koke Mill Road or the Lake Trails (off the Interurban bike trail).
Scheels Parking Lot next to the new Casa Real
From Scheels, head south on Interurban and a loop south of Chatham
Join Ride Leader Libby Shawgo for a casual cruise on the trail. Pace will be 10-12 mph and we‘ll cover about 12 miles. This is a great ride for novice riders.
Our friends in Winchester are again hosting a gravel ride from the shop on Main Street
Washington Park - Pavilion near playground
Saturday, April 20 is the date for the City of Springfield‘s Earth Awareness Fair. The SBC will share a space with the Springfield Bicycle Advisory Council.
There will be a ride starting at Washington Park (pavilion near the playground/tennis courts). Ride to the fair, grab lunch and check out the vendors, then ride back.
Jennifer Rockwell will be the ride leader.
